This course introduces students to the essential foundations of theological studies as well as foundations for theological studies. It explores the meaning, nature, sources, and purpose of theology; its major branches and methods; and its relationship to Scripture, tradition, reason, and experience. Special attention is given to the role of theology in biblical research, faith development, and practical ministry. The course, as foundations for theological studies, equips students with the essential tools and skills required for effective theological study. It emphasizes biblical interpretation (hermeneutics), research methods, academic writing, and spiritual formation. Students will develop both intellectual and devotional foundations for advanced theological engagement. It also lays the groundwork for more advanced theological exploration or provides a foundation for further study in theology. In all, the course is prepared as a teaching manual for lecturers and learning handbook for students. It plays a dual purpose that makes it a unique material. What is more, the course forms the foundations of theological and biblical studies.
